Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson MBE was seriously injured in Afghanistan serving with 7 Para RHA in September 2006. Ben is still the most severely injured soldier ever to survive. Ben joined the Army in September 2000, after completing Basic Training at Harrogate, Ben trained as a Gun Number 3 at the Royal School of Artillery in Larkhill. He joined his regiment, 7 Para RHA in Aldershot in December 2001, completed P Company and deployed on operational tours to Iraq, Kosovo and Afghanistan.
